He caught me staring out the window.
"What are you watching?" he inquired.
"Just the wind", I replied,
"and boy, does she look tired."

I thought of things I've left undone,
words unsaid, and feelings buried,
love I had not felt in years,
all the answers gone unqueried.
There is time now to stop and dream
of things forgotten in a past once harried,
to see what I tossed to the wind,
the sleepless nights and burdens carried.

Then I laughed and shook my head
with a grin of come-what-may,
Wind, my friend, I'm strong again
knowing you'll take it all away.

I love this, I know that "grin" very well myself Very touching, thank you for sharing.

it's a great poem Dixie
but these two lines
captured my imagination

and I wish they were mine...

"Just the wind", I replied,
"and boy, does she look tired."

and yes
you do seem strong

poems like this bring hope to ears of some, to me it brings a sense of my own procrastination. Haha
