On mocking words the cold truth lingers
Beating back the need for grief,
The sad lament of longing, leaving
An empty void without relief.

An organ grinds the monkeys singing
Twisting smiles to mask their greed
While turning thoughts to wills and whether
This will change the lives they lead.

A collared dove, a book of lessons,
A promised glory burning bright,
He lies amid the crow black wasters
The one I wish a last goodnight

You reached out and gripped me (grins -- typed 'groped me' but thank God I caught it).  Anyway, I really like this poem and saved it if that is okay.

"Twisting smiles to mask their greed" master's words.  Good.
