"I don't know what happened"
that's a sorry thing to say
after eleven years knowing you
and now I just fade away.

The lights shine different now
and the songs plays slower,
you call at three in the morning
when the temperature is lower.

I'm reminded of nights by fires
of love and laughter and desires,
you talk so grand and passionately
of times that were, what used to be.

But I no longer live there,
within the confines of yesterday-
you ask me what happened,
why I fade away,

honestly

"I don't know"
is all I can say.

And even if your heart knows, you might not be able to verbalize it.

You write of a love fading...
I know this feeling...well done Dixie gal!
Hugs~

I have a feelin' you didn't fade away at all, but expanded beyond someone's view of you  Bravo!  It's strange how we are expected not to change in life-changing situatons.

This was amazing!
(Can't come up with a better word right now)
It's funny how you can just wake up one day and realize that things are no longer the same.

Very nice!
