Quietly comes the Hunter's Moon,
also called the Stalking Moon,
tonight sharpening edges
on wispy slip wedges of thin shredded clouds,
night after next
it will be almost bright as the day,
and for that gift of sight
it reigns freely,
the enthroned soul of the night;
are there still lovers in the world
who can gaze fondly at a moon,
such a moon,
sliding in between their peaks of passion,
glaring at their wanton disregard of emptiness,
as in their petty sweaty gropings
they build themselves delusions of eternity?

Funny, how we hope that others live on in eternity, and we are so much more merciful on ourselves...we want a nice snap clap happy ending for ourselves (and take the sequins off the gloves)

its a mad bad moon C

but you knew that.

I don't hardly ever see the moon anymore, maybe that's a good thing

C...If there are still lovers in this world, which I think there are, then my hope would be for them to be gazing fondly upon eachother, with or without the moon.  Last night's moon reminded me that it is no longer summer and I have grown.

serenity blaze, madness feels like home doesn't it?

passing shadows, yes sometimes I think it is better to not see but then I get odd cravings and the old one inside awakens.

Martie, growth is always with a price, isn't it?

Seymour Tabin,  *grin*  you are my hero this morning for reminding me how much I enjoy indulging children!

A kindly webmaster friend of mine asked me if the moon-roof on my new car is for what you "see" out from it - or what you "do" out from it... I think both - But I'm actually trying hard to hang onto that summer SUN, myself...

And I enjoyed your poem muchly... C-ya..

Eternity is in the everlasting now, isn't it?  And if that now includes a moon and someone scrumptious, well, that's a good eternity.

I like the way you did this one, the tone and the pictures.

and sometimes that moon
whispers
hurry hurry
time's winged chariot is near
at least that's what it said
tonight

thoughtful poem...

Sometimes, I wish for a delusion and sometimes I'm glad I don't have one.  There are deep layers in this poem which I am still discerning.  I saw that moon night before last night and it was just too big to be normal, Mr. C.  The birds here have all felt it, as well.  I can always tell when something's going on by observing their behavior.  Have to go along with Serenity on this.  Best regards......jo
