I Loved You More Tomorrow

Hesitantly the sun kissed you to life
While you slept on endless eternities
Preparing yourself to be the beautiful wife
Dressed in crystal stars and love-struck butterflies
As the words of the soul form a persona pristine
Dancing invisibly with a secret lover
Imitating fairytales and endings foreseen
Under constellations of dwarves, apples and necromancers
While reality attempts to touch sacred thoughts
Etched on the face of diamonds, rubies and other shiny rocks
A gift to you because that is what your heart sought…
But in the distance, a magic mirror laughs and mocks
And in its reflection a beating heart stops
As the sunset fades into the hopes of dreams…

Marcel

This spoke to me of a woman, so caught up in her dream of what life would be, she ceased to realize all it could be...and the heart that broke watching.
Your poetry grows rich in its insight and depth.

There's more to this than gossamer and sparkly rocks.  I like it.
