Far, far from the truth,
the lies tie the tongue in knots
among the false memories; and there
certainty is placed in-between the pieces,
And who am I to say I am someone else.

I remember my home Or do I
But considering these thoughts; coated in dust
be older than the fresher wounds--
each struggling against the other
and in the breathless moment I recall;
I promised to be the hero that would come for you.

Those stars billowing calamity,
the moon just hung overlooking
my helpless heart waiting to be told;
Is first love really that hard
when words don’t come,
Then you came a little on the late side--
but still I was there waiting wasn’t I?
And still I am here but an older man inside.

Unheard the magic swells into silence,
the ringing of confusion ascends again;
the half-thoughts become busted words--
and from the elder heights of the beauty
seen from overlooking the places we have been,
your perfume still lingers in those places--
pulsing through the first-born memories
and be it pure that I follow the scent.

For years I wanted to be something greater
someone with respect; long enough to stand
Therefore I left and followed a dream,
leaving another dream behind—you!
And still god murmurs and places you in my way--
I guess the pairing was honestly good intended
but holy we are friends—living two different lifes’.

Still I have death upon my shoulders
seeing only her I found after you
the water still beneath my fingernails--
forming into irremovable dirt
reminds me of blood-stained hands,
But she once said forgiveness is not a sin;
forgiveness sets us free,
sometimes the person you need to ask forgiveness from
is yourself—echoing—yourself.

I sure like this one more than the others you have written...this one is down-to-earth, I can relate to this. Guess I never was much into Shakespeare and such.

Bravo on this one! It touched my heart.
