            AWAITING THE SUNRISE

They come to see her now
Car after car, stare and
Witness her, in such distress
One leave in tears,some say
How can she ever be the lovely
Soul, that was once her
Some say the glimmer is gone
She dies a slow death
With this tragedy

The buses roll on the streets
The politicians, all in awe
Of this place, of the Crecent
As they depart, in the sunset
They look back, making so
Many promises,even a mere man
Cannot conceive, such lies
That he hears bestowed on
This place he calls his home

For what they know not
Is the heart of her is strong
Even if she, is tattered and torn
The frills and lace can be
Replaced, with a helping hand

As long as the heart yields
Her thoughts of this she was
Then my fiend, she will be
As once she was, with or
Without your help
The Crecent will rise again

So, my political fiend
When you view her once more
Look beyound the setting sun
For their you will see
The shadow of your soul displayed
A place , even mother nature would
Not attempt to approach

For eternity awaits you there
The lack of your care
The lies you have told
The promises unfulfilled
Levees made strong enough
To make her believe,
She could protect, the most
Precious of all gifts,
She held within

Now, so many lay still
Breathing no more,
Leaving only the tears
Of those left behind
To wheap for them
A flood that has no end
My political fiend

The Crecent will turn her back
As well, remembering the horror
You did to her, there my fiend
For the horror, you gave
You will reap eternity
In horror in return

For this will be as sure
AS the sunrise of morn
Will once again rise over
The Crecent city Of New Orleans

PoohBear~
You write so lovingly of your New Orleans~
The CARING WORDS that others need to hear~
Thank you for sharing this~

I think our responses should be,
I see
I hear
How can I help ?
