Michelle’s Dayscape

It goes without saying, little one
that at the piano I felt your spirit
feeling you were some fire’s birth
in your mother’s womb
this, I could recognize
because my very own babe shares
the month of your birth

strange, I hadn’t thought of that before,
but in the fire of your month, when Opal
carries in white the color of your emotions

and emotions blazon ‘cross shadows
where memories show of images and
man and wife are holding you, child,

it goes without saying
that love crosses time
when even moments are
without end, some sheen of
wander comes on wings, when
shifting winds sound like love,
and there is love held tight, again

it is then, I see you, smiling.

I'm torn between a yearning here--

I'd love to see this more primally depicted, but I understand the necessity of tempering...

and this's why I cannot wear Opals:

"but in the fire of your month, when Opal
carries in white the color of your emotions"

It is a lively stone and full of fire and liquid light, and wearing them seems to amplify what is already far too apparent in me.

This poem is gently lovely--but I swear I felt some restraint as if almost fearful of evocation of the underlying tsunami, yanno?

Sure you do.

You both know.

Most beautiful and endearing Karilea.
