All day it rained
all day the strong wind blew
tonight....looking down
from my window
to gauge the damage
I see
in the moonlight
blood spilled
a battlefield of the fallen
where shining and wet
on the dark ground
crimson maple leaves lie.

Nancy, this is just beautiful. I love the fall, when the leaves turn colors.

EnchantedLady~
Gorgeous .... just gorgeous~

Our Sycamore tree is shedding her aura of beauty all over the ground also~
Just in time for me to gather those HUGE leaves and paint them for the November and Christmas decorations~

The grandie girlies and I will be busy for the next few weeks, every spare minute up to our 'tickles' in leaves and paint~

Rusty tears?  I would love the colors of fall, the leaves rustling ghostly underfoot as if whispering secrets left by the wind which blew them there.  Your picture is such a pretty visual to go with your delightful poem.

Nancy, My husband is very happy not to have those fallen leaves to contend with.  We have only a 30' holly tree in our front yard.  It is baubled and bedecked in bright red berries for the time being.

Hi Karen!  I'll bet that tree looks beautiful too!
I try not to rake too many of the leaves..
I would rather watch them as they dance on down the street.
Thanks for stopping by.  Hugs

Tinker you paint so beautifully with words.  Fall is such a beautiful time of year...unless you happen to be a leaf.  Want to help me rake leaves??

Hi scorpio!  Never thought of it that way..being a leaf I mean.
I'm really not into raking them...
would rather have a good wind carry them dancing and skipping on down the street.
Thanks for stopping in..
Hugs and love ya, Tinker
