we were the smoke colors there
like old golden windows
with films that reflected shadows
and had cigar smells

but the outside of our glass
was classy diamonds
with just enough sun
to make shimmer signs to the sand

we would laugh at the wind
when it moved us around
in our frame
and rattled our teeth

like hiccup echos on painted lips
hiding cold teeth
sometimes we thought we would break
or fall from being together

but a lover's god always made the storms

I bite my lips in the wind, but I love how it swirls your words, exchanges smoke for  gleam of sunbeams on my mind and leaves to crisp my senses...  to fall...yes to fall.

for once I stood
on the inside warm
and the only chill
that was felt was
when I placed my hand
to the amber glass
