ARE THEY WORTH IT?

For only ninety-four days this year
They have been at work, in session
Paid eighteen hundred for each day
Are they worth it, that's the question?

Did they give us all health care?
Or raise the minimum wage?
Did they secure our borders?
Or strive to protect the page?

Did they make us any safer?
Or help out the middle class?
Did they reduce the deficit?
Or make any good bill pass?

Did they really lower taxes?
Or make the rich pay their share?
Did they win either of the Wars?
Or do they even seem to care?

Did they stay out of our bedrooms?
Or make our privacy secure?
Did they give us the right to die?
Or stem cell research for a cure?

Did they search for a different fuel?
Or make Exxon pay what they owe?
Did they have Halliburton account?
Or stop any of that wasteful flow?

Did FEMA take care of disasters?
Did they help the poor rebuild?
Did they make empty promises?
Or were any of them fulfilled?

Did they make our schools safer?
Or fund them, so they could teach?
Did they make English our language?
Or make immigrants learn our speech?

Did they take care of our Seniors?
Or all those mentally impaired?
Did they make drugs affordable?
Or have enough flu shots prepared?

Did they take care of our homeless?
Or make sure all folks were fed?
Did they treat all People equal?
Or let power go to their head?

Did they take care of our Veterans?
Or our Troops when they came home?
Did they believe in PTSD?
Or any other War syndrome?

Did they tell our Troops the truth
Or send most twice or more?
Did they stop the terrorists?
Or let them through our open door?

Did they reach out to the People?
Or think they were above us all?
Did they listen to our complaints?
Or only hear the dollar's call?

Did they try to stop corruption?
Or all the illegal lobbying?
Did they help small businesses?
Or stop the job outsourcing?

Did they do anything that counts?
Or even care about you and me?
Did they bring us to a new low?
Or earn our trust and loyalty?

Did they think we'd vote them back in?
Or turn a blind eye and deaf ear?
Did they think we'd go for “status quo”?
Or they could once more, count on fear?

Did they think we are that stupid?
To vote them all back in again?
Did they think we'd let our Nation lose?
Or think, “We, the People”, couldn't win?

In November all of us will see
If we have the will to make a change
To take our Country back from “them”
Although it might seem kinda strange!

If you don't vote then don't complain
If you don't like what comes to be
For the only way to make things better
Is by that one vote from you and me.

It's time to change, I agree.

Your voice is important.

The answer in many questions is no?
I will be voting...because I don't like lots of the imcumbants...although some I like alot...unfortunately the new batch doesn't seem overly promising...how about the President...is he worth it?...I do support the President, although I believe invading Iraq was a blunder that has turned into a disaster...James

My Dear Abe

If it was not for the mere fact your member's details reveal your in america.... i would think you were talking of my native land. The sadness is that the tremours are felt all over this blessed planet... each goverment corrupt as the other!!! But there is hope... with people like yourself, our numbers are growing and standing up .... saying enough is enough.... United we shall stand !!  divided we shall fall.

(loud applause) I'm proud to declare that I have already filled and mailed my mail-in ballot here in Oregon, and hope that we usher in change 12 days from now! (sad sigh) This pattern of incompetence, abuse of power and failed leadership is reason enough why this current majority party is undeserving of maintaining their current trifecta, but the central conscience fueling my vote this year is with the understanding that any party which has absolute control with the trifecta and such, especially when their record is abysmal, is dangerous to a democracy.  Therefore I hope the Democratic Party takes the House of Representatives NOT because I support the party, as I have intense reservations about the Democrats like I do the Republicans being a registered Independent voter, but because I believe a balance in leadership is essential in maintaining our democratic ideals, especially when a dominant majority party abuses their power like the Democrats did leading up to 1994 and what the GOP has done now in the last five years especially! (sad sigh) The simple answer is, they're NEVER worth it in situations like this, thus let our declarations be made through our #2 pencils, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Abe, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Sheesh, I'd happily work twice that many days for half that payscale, and bet I'd get something done worth waving a flag about; but since I'm not running for an office, I'd best be careful to vote only for those who will vote as I might.
