Snowball of Delight

25 October 2006

Daisy, Daisy
my Bichon Frise.
Your beauty, your love,
your wonder, my heart to please.

Daisy, you're beautiful,
with no master to forsake.
A loving maiden, to fetch
and in her happiness partake.

Sweet Daisy, your ball,
white as snow. Her love,
her child, in your eyes,
where she does glow.

Sweetness, to a best friend,
Daisy, adorable Daisy.
She loves you, and you,
in your doggie eyes know.

Gentle mannered, sensitive, playful and affectionate. A cheerful attitude is the hallmark of the Bichon Frisé (French, literally Curly lap dog; often spelled Bichon Frise in English). and one should settle for nothing less.

The Bichon Frise breed is a small, sturdy white powder puff of a dog whose merry temperament is evident by his plumed tail carried jauntily over the back and his dark-eyed inquisitive expression.

They are popular pets, similar to poodles. They are often devoted to their masters. They also have a common fondness of licking their owners.

Bichons originate in the Mediterranean region (possibly the Canary Islands), and were bred as lap dogs for the French royalty. They were originally called the Bichon Tenerife and their earliest origins are traced to the African subcontinent.

The Bichon Frise dog breed was brought to the United States of America in 1955 and was reconized by the American Kennel Club in 1973.

It is nice to make a friend happy, and perhaps write a good poem at the same time.

Where that could be the true delight of any poet
