A Mountains Peak

I climbed a mountains peak last night
To see the streaking of the morn
Gods paint brush sweeping colors light
A palette full of dew of dawn

Each stroke lit up the clouds with gold
The mountains gray had over tones
With tints of red to make them bold
I could not see them just as stones

Phantoms formed and fantasy bloomed
Illusion played a symphony
To see these things my mind had groomed
Harmonies epiphany

I reached out to the coming light
To touch it at horizons cleave
And soaked my senses with the white
To fill this cup of my believe

But in the blooming of the day
The mountain faded dead away

WOW, this is outstanding. For the first time in a little while I can say someone actually got the idea of imagery and brought that into their poem without taking away meaning.
Pity we can't apprecate such beauties as you described, in our society.
AMazing. VEry good write.

Hmmm....let me close my eyes and think about that a second.  Nope, it didn't fade away 'cause I can see it ever so clearly here, Sy, and it is lovely!  Thanks for the view.   .....jo

No - the mountain didn't and doesn't ever fade away.  We just get distracted.

Enjoyed the view painted by your words!

Just when I am of the opinion that it would be impossible for you to surpass the beauty of your previous posts, you prove me wrong ~ and delightfully so!

I climbed the mountain of my cares
To search for morning light
I faught my demons hiding there
long through the night.

And when at length the gray appeared
My terrors they did fade
I grabbed a steaming pot of JO
and started a new day.

Thank you for the inspiration!
