The Last Goodbye

Daylight offers no solace;
Nighttime no reprieve,
Time flies by in an endless blur,
Yet I can do nothing but grieve.

Sadness holds my heart
In its cold and withered hand;
Crushing with every breath I take,
Its icy grip I cannot withstand.

Haunted every waking hour,
Anguished within my dreams;
Seeking peace in this time of sorrow
My tortured Soul silently screams.

The deepest regret in my burdened heart
Is never saying that final goodbye;
And so I pray that the Angels will bear
These words I have penned to you on high:

To you whom I have loved and lost,
Though you left this world behind;
You will never be far from my thoughts,
You remain forever in my heart and mind.

~you reached inside, you touched my heart,
and I am all the better for it~

Hello, everyone!  I know that it has been a long time since I last posted, but I felt like this is the best place I can be right now, and I have missed all of my dear friends here.  This is actually the first thing that I have penned in a long time as well.  I lost my father on Labor day this year, and I just felt that I needed to get everything out so that I can start the healing process.  I also know that my friends here will understand.  I think this has given me the chance to cleanse myself and start living again.  Thanks to you all for allowing us the chance to express our joys, our sadnesses, and our fears in a warm and welcoming environment.  Especially you, Ron!

I am sorry for your loss.
I know your pain...specially the 4th verse.
I know how it feels when your heart doesn't sing.
I am VERY glad to see you return.
Thank you for sharing this piece of yourself with us.
Regards,

Thank you to everyone.  I have felt a burden lift after I posted this.  I think the worst thing was that I didn't get to say "Goodbye" or "I love you".  But I have said it now in my own way.  You guys are wonderful.  I think I am not going to stay away for so long this time.

Marge
     My dear friend -- I will be writing to you.  I just wanted to thank you for posting to my old stuff in Open Poetry #6.  That was a long time ago, but very well worth remembering.

Thanks...

~Hugs~

"I Am All"
I am the sad song of the Indian
for the land...
I am the wail for justice
of all men...

I am all in all.
Look for me!

I am words to those who cannot speak...
Cripples' feet...
I am the eyes of the blind,
ears of the deaf...

I am all in all...
Look for me!

I am the life of trees in Autumn
giving up their leaves
to build a resurrection
for the spring...

I am.
