Sorry, Gang.  I had to post a new, "darker" mood.  I am usually "light," but everything has a Yin to its Yang, eh?

Oops!  Is this posted in the wrong forum?

One Apart

My darkness touches only me,
and so who goes with me, goes alone.
I am not one with the others.
I am one apart.
Where do you start?

…And where do I end?

What part of me is so moved by pain?
If ever a person claimed my soul,
I would be bargaining in bad faith.
So go away...
…unless you stay.

…But, "Why?" is beyond me.

And knowing all of this,
who's at fault if we are joined?
"Not I," said the chicken.
Just try to care,
if you will dare.

…And don't blame me when it fails.

Thus another foolish person tried,
and ran screaming out the door.
I warned them like before.
Why don't they hear
one single tear

…as it hits the floor.

I prefer to be a dreamer among the humblest, with visions to be realized, than lord among those without dreams and desires. -Khalil Gibran

Hi, Margherita.

I wasn't sure if this should be posted here, because after I posted it I saw the forum called "The Dark," or something similar.

In any case, I'm glad that you liked my write.

Hi, Shadows.

I suspect that we all might feel worthless at one point or another...but I could be wrong.

Thanks for sharing.

John...

"If ever a person claimed my soul,
I would be bargaining in bad faith.

I think that a soul only belongs to the life of the person who is clothing for it, but love, on the other hand should be this way.

I really like your poetry of all kinds!

Thanks, Martie!

I was in a wierd mood, so I had to write it down.  I was just going back over a couple of very dark relationships...

You are a poet of many contrasts...it is the darkness, that makes the light so much brighter.

Well writtens thoughts.

Thanks, TD.

Yes, the dark is usually ovewhelmed by the light, but sometimes it peeks through, reminding me that it's there.
