Gazing out over the flat arid landscape
Her blue eyes float across the golden horizon
Sandy brown hair whips around her face
Her calloused hand brushes the hair from her face
Her dusty skirts fluttering with the wind

Those sharp blue eyes search for her rugged cowboy
He left for Casper last week
Went to meet his cousin to help with the cattle
Coming in from the cattle drives
They needed the extra money
To make the payment on their land
For even in the Wild West
Money still ruled the man

From off in the distance she hears the hoof beats of a horse
She raises a hand the shield her eyes from the morning sun
To see the sparkling Palomino her man had left on
Collecting her skirt she rushes to the fence a smile spread across her tan face
With dust covered cloths he steps down from his mount
Wrapping her in his powerful arms she finds her center again

Know yourself before you try to know someone else.
