My mother-in –law

You were the one who was always here
To comfort us and dry our tears.

You always had a shoulder for us to cry on,
When we were feeling down and all alone.

You were the one, who always understood,
And gave your help the best you could.

You helped us over some rocky days,
And overlooked our crazy ways.

You never told us who was wrong or right,
When we ran to you with all our fights.

You gave us a lot through all those years,
And took away our foolish fears.

Without you there what would we have done?
For off our shoulders you lifted a ton.

I’ll always love you through days good and bad,
For you were the mother I never had.

Without having loved your son I never would have known,
The love of a mother although you weren’t my own.

Now thirty -five years later that love still remains,
A bond so great, a love so deep.

Becky~
Aw, it's so nice to see a sweet post~

Some of our members refer to 'her' as their "mother-in-love"

Sounds like you've got one of those~

WELCOME to the circle of friends and poets~

Hi, Becky! Welcome to PiP! A lovely tribute poem for your mother-in-'awe'.

She sounds divine! Mind you, I get the distinct impression that she has herself a wonderful daughter-in-law.

It appears that you both are deserving of each other! God bless you both!

Giving each of you a warm, loving, hug,

Earth Angel

So many times a mother in law is put down , nice to see that they can be honored as well as you have done here, a loving tribute to a special lady

A very warm tribute, obviously so.  It is
nice to have a Mother In Law that has
walked our mile and understands..
