Closer to Hell...

“I’m so sorry!”
That’s all I ever seem to say
Did you make me this way?
So afraid to stand up for myself
Putting my feelings up on a shelf

Forcing smiles and lifeless laughter
I’m beginning to see
There is no happily ever after

I’m sorry if I get in the way
I’m sorry if I haven’t made your day
I’m sorry that I can’t stop crying
I’m sorry that I won’t stop trying

Should I be sorry for even exiting too?
Am I really that offensive to you?
I’m sorry that I’m so confused
Even though it’s my feelings that have been abused

If only I could stay angry and strong
Instead of feeling dirty and wrong
Sorry I don’t know what to do
I’m truly sorry that I can't protect me
From you

That came straight from the soul.
I have goose bumps.
I feel your pain in that poem.
Beautiful, yet sooo sad.

Thank you Becky.
I'm happy you liked it!
I don't really like to put up "Woe is me" poetry but today I don't give a flip...

Today is one of those day's where you look out the window and say to yourself "This day just isn't for me" and hide under the covers hoping the world doesn't find you and pull you're lazy buns out of bed.

Kira, no one can make you feel any way you don't want to feel...you are strong and in control of yourself! Life is too short for bumpy roller coasters

Wow. I was right there with you, feeling this lump in my throat. I know exactly how it feels to bear that "responsiblity", whether it is yours or not. Beautifully expressed. Thank you for the read.

Excellent!  Exactly right, but so often we can't see that we're not at fault.  Because we've always been taught that we are.

What do you do when you look around your circle of friends and find too many that are controlling and manipulative and judgemental and critical...
You start trading them in for new friends that are loving and caring and accepting and forgiving...and then you will not have to say you are sorry for everything...James
