Love’s Moonlight Blessing

We walked in beauty.
Moonlit meadows were our path
As the moon rose high.
Why shine so brightly, kind Moon?
Are you jealous of our love?

Moon, I do protest.
No one is fair as my love!
You should adore her.
Your light kindled our romance
Once upon a timeless night.

We met on a path
--As bright as day with Moonlight--
Verdant with new life.
Your magnificence lured us
Straight into each other’s arms.

Never was a night
As blissful as I recall,
So many years past
When strangers became lovers,
Dancing in your magic light.

Dancing brought a kiss,
Kisses led to an embrace,
Embraces brought love.
Love let us walk together,
Two lovers, one heart, and you.

Kindly Moon, join us!
Dance along through the heavens,
And let time stand still.
Moonlight presages magic,
And lets love endure through time.

As the Moon shines down
--Jealous of our love no more--
The skies open wide.
And cloudless nights will be ours
In blissful eternity.

Thanks, TD.

Your kindness is full of magic, too!

Tanks for your response!

Hi, Nancy!

Yes, Tankas take a bit more time, but I always love to have the ability to finish a story.  Consequently, they are ideal if I want to follow a non-rhyming form with strict rules in creating a nice write.

Thanks again!
