Walking with you down a muddy road
Having to get rid of our new pet toad
Mommy didn’t think too much of him
Especially when he tried to jump into the microwave oven
Daddy said it isn’t very ladylike
To have a pet toad whose name is "Spike"
We need to find a home for him before dinnertime
Or dad will end up feeding him to his favorite canine
With heavy hearts we look for his new home
He’ll need lots of friends so he won’t feel alone
Finding the perfect muddy puddle we stop
Waving goodbye to Spike as he starts to hop
We walk home arm in arm
Hoping that Spike doesn’t meet any harm
As we enter the house we encounter quite a scene
Mom is on a chair and letting out several screams
Later on we sadly go to bed without any cake
Because we forget to find a home for Billy the snake

Looks like something I wrote in the secound grade! Oh well...

~Sweet memories~

I’m sure my mother would beg to differ of course!
I can remember scenarios going down like this all the time.
Me and my sister had to keep every animal we found and we
usually stashed them in drawers or under the kitchen sink.
As you can imagine it always ended in the same result,
My mother found them, told us to find them new homes
and to never bring another animal in again.
(Somehow we never got the message)
I’m happy to report though that me and my sister have now grown out of that
stage of our lives.
(We are now considered the animals)
This particular memory came to me when my little sister brought
in her new “pet” froggy this afternoon and asked if she could keep it in the bathe tub.

I'll stop gabbing now!

Hugs and Hershey Bars!
