~"When the world is dark and others sleep"
I find thoughts of you in my counting of sheep
Across the fence of night they leap
until the alarm of clock does beep~

~Then upon the rise of morn
thoughts of you are newly born
Never shall the sheep be shorn
to wrap the night in ever warm~

~For in the gentle night of fleece
I shall always find the peace
in count of you among the flock
that ticks the tock of my sleepy clock~

A lovely insired write Marge!
Love the tick tock rhythm felt here.
Indeed, it is when we are least likely to be able to sleep
that bits and pieces of rhyme come to us.
Love you, Nance

Hi, Marge.

That's really cute.  I like it!

Marge, your spirit is a great inspiration to everyone who meets you or reads your work. You are a staple here and PiP's wouldn't be the same without sweet Marge.    Ed

'Across the fence of night they leap"
I love this verse. vivid but when one counts sheep, rarely think if they are jumping over something...also means the sleep jumped away too. beautiful. beautiful.
