CANCER

What was my verdict? Nine months to three years,
That’s not enough time I said through my tears.

Why me I asked the Lord, what did I do?
Is it because I seldom talked to you?

A six-letter word tore my world apart,
It made me think and search my heart,

It made me weak, yet made me strong,
It made me think of things I did wrong.

It took from me the life I once had,
It made me angry and sad.

It ate at my body as it took its toil,
But I would never let it get my soul.

It even took away part of my brain,
But I still see the rainbow after the rain.

As I fought this disease night after night,
It made me see people in a different light.

As it made me grow sicker day by day,
It took my husband and friends away.

Being so sick that I could hardly drive,
Yet I’m still thankful I’m alive.

Tumors and no hair is all that see,
A shell, where Becky used to be.

I hope this is not another true story, Becky.  If it is, you will be in my prayers if that is okay?  Well written poem here.

I have a friend that has been going through that this past year, an awful thing to go through but praise be to God we believe she has it licked! You express the journey of it very well.

Hello Becky and welcome to Passions.
I am adding you to my prayer list
and sending healing thoughts your way.
It's good to write it out...it really does help.
We have a prayer circle here
if you ever have the need..just let me know.
We have even seen miracles happen.
But do keep up the writing, and we'll be right there beside you.

~Warm Smiles & Healing Hugs, Nancy~

Becky, to say the least a very touching moment in time you have shared, most of the time life is so unfair in the way it deals the hand but sometimes when the hand is dealt the gift of life is given in a way that maybe during an entire lifetime we could never discover its gift in any other way, thank you for sharing this moment with me ,, Mav

Becky,

You came here to write, and found those that wanted to read your words.

You came here to cast off some heavy burdens, and found those that respected your stregnth.

You came here to vent, and found those who would keep you in their prayers.

I think you came to the right place at the right time. Stay strong, keep writing, and know we care.

That"Shell" is covering a whole lotta substance! ~ Strength, nobility, courage, and an indominible spirit!

What a shame for you to have also experienced the loss of your husband and friends. This surely was a poem to put a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes.

Hang in there, Darlin'! You are so much more than the some of your body parts! You have a spirit that shines on!

I will keep you in my prayers.

Loving, Healing, Hugs,
EA

Welcome to PIP my thoughts and prayers ae with you!

All things are possible with God!

J. M. Barrie, the playwright, may have said it best when he wrote, “God gave us memories so that we might have roses in December.”
