Autumn’s Sadness

Exquisite hues fade.
Blood-drained leaves portend death’s grip,
Decrying winter.

Pinky: Gee, Brain, what are we going to do tonight?
Brain: The same thing we do every night, Pinky: try to take over the world!

The sea moves in tides
A leaf flutters in farewell~
A bluebird flies south.

Very nice one John...I enjoy these.

Limbs bend with the wind
hiding from the cold gray rain.
Watch the colors run.

I love haikus.

You're pretty Haiku-y, too!

Hi, Nan.

Yes, I love them, too.

Everybody
Loves to write Haikus to me.
"Why is this?" I ask.

Often we do this
write haiku/senryu chains
just keep it going.

I will follow your advice,
For it is quite sound.

Hi, EA.

Thanks a bunch.  I often spend far more time on a Haiku, than on a poem.

Autumnal hugs in return!

Hi, Kira.

Thanks for the kind/sad words!  I actually had a counterpoint Haiku for his one, but I can't find it.  Oh, well...!

Hi, TL.

I admire your admiring!  And yes, Haiku can be very time consuming.

Thanks!

Ok John...I'll bite.  This was my life last night.  FYI, I fight fire in Boulder, Colorado.

I like your haikus.

Would it make sense if I said I could feel them?

Hi, Just me again (Sandra)!

I am so glad that you enjoyed my little construct.  I worked hard to squeeze meaning out of every word.

Thanks for reading!

Hi, INclan.

A fireman stands
Alone on a mountaintop,
Surveying his life.

Bravo to you for your bravery and your Haiku!  Firefighting is definitely one of the nobler (and more dangerous) professions.

As for your battles, I think that Mother Nature might help a bit, as she has been planning an assault on the fire, herself.  Unfortunately, she is fighting fire with snow--and lots of it--at least that'e what the weatherman says.  BRRRRRRR!

Fight the good fight, God Bless you in your efforts and in your safety and, above all, keep writing.

Thanks for your resopnse and your insight.

Hi, Allysa (what a pretty name!)

Thanks for your kindness.  And, yes, I often "feel" (or more accurately for me, have a visceral reaction) to something that seems to have been written to speak to me.

Thanks again.
