A Comforting Reflection

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

It's a comforting reflection now
when before I couldn't bear
to glance into a mirror, knowing
I'd despise what I saw there.

But looking now, I cannot see
the anger, pain, the sinful heart,
the alcoholic, or the mistress,
the sadness that ripped my life apart.

All I can say is it was God,
and beautiful is the light of dawn,
I stop and gaze at everything
that I can be reflected on,
it's comforting to know deep down
that old reflection's gone.

Hi

God moves in mysterious ways
He has a special fondness for long lost strays
All he asks is, that you change your ways
Then, he will bless your remaining days.

this reminds me of something I wrote, "She saw a girl reflected".

The realisation that the person you see in the mirror is someone you have to live with everyday is terrifying.
I am so glad you made peace with your reflection.
And after reading what I've read of you, I know why you do.
Beautiful write. xx Cheye
