Listening to every heart

Last Hello

A gainful life, spent,
His family, surrounding
Dignity, fulfilled.

She wrote, “thank you for stopping,
Lifting hats, saying goodbye.”

She went on to write,
“He lived in such a small town,
Or that’s what we thought.”

His last “hey” to destiny
Some saw him waving to doves.

Whistling winds call
Hello, my love, oh, hello
Come find your path, now.

He waved to the crowd below
Clouds were hiding his wide smile.

*Note:  Some kin’s expression
in the paper, thanking the town
for pulling over on the road,
taking off their hats, giving respect.
Nothing taken, it seems, for granted.

Hi

I think this poem is a lovely eulogy for a kind soul who passed on.

Sissie...."His last “hey” to destiny

Such a wonderful way to be remembered..
And a great way to take his final bow.
Well done.
