Christ of Amour

13 October 2006

I can’t write poetry.

I can only recite love.

That feeling of knowledge,

this Spirit in Christ of amour.

My bearer, a banner by name,

enchantment, a forest of heaven.

The wind whispering,

your name and mine.

Neither a poet, or a lover,

more both on path to rejoice.

That scent, your man kind,

this is what I do smell.

Closer, ever closer, for

victory, a word of no shame.

The haze, a darkened cloud,

skies more blue than fresh air.

Each breath taken in understanding.

Next to me, the poet within,

this man of outer length,

you were there.
