I shake out the corner of my garments
to keep myself safe
from evil minded enemies

in spite of the vicissitudes of life
the moon has reappeared
the fruit of this season

I rise on the tip of my toes
three times
dance toward the pale light
reaching for the crown

I know not the difference
in god’s nectar
and that of the devil
yet I have the power
to bless the new moon

I whisper
the benediction
long live david
the king

the blessing returns
pleasing
to my mouth

"I know not the difference

Beautiful writing.

" As the sun shines upon the just and the unjust, and as women who bear and give suck tend God's children and the devil's brood with equal compassion, unconcerned about the possible consequences, so we also are part and parcel of this amazing nature, and, like it, carry within us the seeds of the unpredictable."

"long live david the king"   Beloved.  What magic you weave in this poem, to my enchantment!  A mellow moon has been bewitching recently, so befitting, this crown of October. Wonderful poetry!

From the first verse, I was caught up in another, moonlit, world.  Lovely feel to this one.

Hi, TL.

Well spoken and lovely...from a dweller in the "House of david?"

Very...well...poetic!  Vivid and imaginative...

I just love this.

It's wonderful to share your observance of the "Days of Awe" through your eyes.

It is also wonderful to note that you contribute to that awe through your writing.

Thank you.
