Between the Lines

In the Darkness

Thoughts
wrench the sleep
from under me.
Worry,
becoming the unwanted guest
in this life.

What was, lingers
in the between.

What will,
hanging on the  tip
of a question mark.

Eyes say it  all
"in gentle silence",
moisture contained behind.

Tomorrow's promise,
kept at arm's length,
begins to wither,
as  the puzzle
continues to fray
from forceful piecing...

It was there once,
in a smile of hope,
when age didn't matter,
and slumber
came easily
in the darkness.

I really love the line "hanging on the  tip
of a question mark." never heard that phrase before but really makes sense, and sounds imaginative. Good write!

M-Lady, I'm glad I saw this tonight.  I agree with what Aziza said about the lines she pulled out, too.  Think you need a hug, so here .....jo

This feels sometimes so long ago...

MzBliss~

You would just HAVE TO KNOW that I LOVED this thought -

'What will,
hanging on the  tip
of a question mark.'

Yes ... yes~
