Karilea inspired me to go looking through my documents for October poems...her beautiful inspirational poem is here: /pip/Forum96/HTML/001105.html

Waiting For You

Touching you
always did remind me
of that road I drove
from Fairfax to DC
in the middle of October
when the leaves were just turning
and I find myself tonight
now once again in yearning.

I long to drive that road again
the purple, yellow, orange, and red,
the snow wasn't too far away
indeed, how quickly that fall fled
but God, it was a beautiful sight
the longest road I've ever driven
and it burns deep within me here
praying another chance be given.

Let me return
before the snow
you wait for me
alone, I know
it won't be long
each beautiful hue
will sparkle again
with morning dew
and you will be certain
what you always knew...
I have been waiting
quietly longing for you.

And yet another beautiful October poem tonight.
Lovely this, Dixie.

Oh, I remember this poem!
And I remember the heart breaking.

BUT...look at all of the leaves
you have turned over since....

then, look at all of the love
you've returned.

Tenfold.

Dixie...this catches my heart in leaves and color...October is that way, like love it is so pretty, but is the end of bloom and missing perfumes.  You have so beautifully captured it.

the ache of love
the purple, yellow, orange, and red,
and the road
it speaks to the October heart
Dixie...

Dixie,

The colors and long drive... yesss, the waiting.  I can feel it vividly.  Felt like I've been there...

Glad you decided to re-post.
