spoken tokens of slow motion kin
read me the poems of your highways
bring me those gypsy songs
that traveled the gravel shoulders
unworthy of willows or widows

I will watch your children playing
from the windows of my sky
they will know me as god sometimes
on their midweek sundays
when afternoons are their heavens

and raising hell is acceptable
after night comes over their minds
in velvet blankets with skin
and their women moan their names
as gasping sounds chantering

read me the highways of their poems then

A journey well worth traveling Dark. Much enjoyed this side of your pen.

Hi, daark.

That is a great write, even though it is somewhat dark, and some might say disturbing.  Very colorful imagery brings up many pictures, but this is faintly reminiscent of the Amish schoolhouse tragedy...  I don't know if that's just how my mind works or not.

Anyway, as I said, great write.

I don't see this as dark, but light and full of childhood memories somehow. Maybe I am way off.

Continually blown away by your talent DS.

Sometimes it seems that way.

"read me the poems of your highways
bring me those gypsy songs"

I liked this part best...
makes me think of road trips, and finding poetry along the way..
