lipstick smeared
all over pretty cigarettes
smoke; dancing in the summer moon

through hazy rings you sit
dreaming of home
cars go by
ominous traffic
that you once called your own

lights dance among the city streets
now winter breath fills up the sky
with memories lost
and faces past

slowly humming
the traffic dulls
but inside you know it's just the beginning.
the taxi comes
you miss it again
another chance gone
and the only trace left
are the shadows on the street.

I suspect this is how my daughter feels so far away from home in a big, big city.  Your feelings came through well.  Hang in there.

Thank you. Yes it can be a struggle, but I'm hanging in there Hope your daughter is doing the same.
