Zany Words

Zany is the words that spar
Echoing from near and far
Searching for the daffodils
Where lilies now crowd the hills

Shorter are the nights for me
Sailing on its misty sea
Weaker are the winds that blow
Fewer are the seeds I sew

Dimmer is my Adams shore
Nearly closed my Eden’s door
Fog has hid horizons view
Clog now chokes of nothing new

I do not fish I’ve used my bate
The time is short I cannot wait
And thus to zany words I laugh
These words that seem an epitaph

Alas my friends disparity
Has filled my bags sagacity

You search for nothing more than we
Some love and time to share
Alas the years may never see
The dream we hold in there

But through your words and passion's plea
You search your world to find
The sirens you many never see
Except for in your mind

But isn't life devin to know
There's others here as you
Tears and fears and doubt may grow
But we all feel them too.

Hope you are well my friend, thank you for sharing this with me today.

Sincerely
Rick

I have to say this is one of my favourites by you Seymour.

"I do not fish I’ve used my bate
The time is short I cannot wait"

I really liked these lines. The use of bate was an interesting piece of word play.

Hmmm, I think this is one for my library. Thank you for sharing, Seymour.

Thank you for this kind answer.

Speaking of zany, you are a bunch of honey.

Marge,
Shall we use some zany bate?

Mr. T., you have a uniquely expressive way with words ~ zany and otherwise!

Years from now, if you chance to revisit this going out to pasture sort of poem, you will say to yourself, "What the dickens was that young rooster thinking about!?!"

Angel hugs 'n kisses,

Zany....now that is one wonderful word and you have brought a big smile to me this afternoon, Sy....maybe if we laugh all the time, we can hold the ole dog at bay awhile yet.  *hugs*......jo
