Years distant
Words lost
silenced
in the flurries of life
in the opinions of men

tonight
as the moon rises in the mystery of night, in the black
it is bright and beams off lingering mists
smiling the man in the moon is tonight

there are words that are suddenly revealed
standoffish
distant
afraid

there is understanding
rejection
and little courage
and weariness

oh but to dream...
and tonight as mists swirl
about the neon sign of a new church
I see
what courage is
and that a dream will never change without it

"and that a dream will never change without it"
