They've ended now, the dances
The feathered snow has left us in a trance
A clamor of thoughts unheard
Like footsteps, neither near nor far away

May the overture begin again
For a time, drawing each of us that listens
To feel like falling for a time and yet as always
We do not recognize

a last attempt to fill an exhausted form,
to know once more the ordeal of wound
by hand and eye. To know the source of burning
