Routine Stop:

scene1:
we had
just come from my son's
3rrrrrrd birthday party where -i
personally crafted the phony finding nemo decorations
-thank you very much-
which he loved and are still up.
it took forever to get 'em right
but booooy
you shoulda just seen the look in his eyes.

scene2:

but it's the reflection seen
thru my brother and cousins eyes
from the hood of Al's -'89 honda
that had me like a movie was on
and i was the main character,
as some of Yonkers "finest"
deccided to disregard responsibility
during what
shoulda just been a routine stop.

scene3:

now no eye contact was made,
but intimidation's no factor w/in me.
and thou i showed no disrespect,
so much more then physical scars
-now lie -deep w/i me.
the cuff marks on my wrists-
can't compare
to the visions of
repeatedly be'n hit with swift kicks en fists
by these
boys in blue.
en the pinyata force used-
completamente un-necessary
was waved around like a flag of twisted pride
on what i've come to realize
as the 1st time in life
-where i couldn't defend myself.

now blind i must'a been
cuz El Diario constantly drips
with the blood of the innocent,
yet i wait for the chance to feel
quote un quote
normal again.

wait for the chance to prove to self
that worth is just
half blink away
but random passing sirens
keep dragging me back to that dreadful day
en i'm stuck wonder'n why???
why am i wait'n ta feel safe
with all the taxes i pay?

and the scene is played over far to often to be considered just one more act of random un-kindness.

A very good rave, an excellent write. It's nice to be your first reply.
