It’s a physical ache, this hunger
One impossible to describe
Longing for a life sustaining morsel
To savor every given bite

Oh, like oxygen your beauty is
Feed me from the depths of you
Save someone from a cruel fate
And help the light shine through

Maddening really, can’t shake the thought
Of the intensity of this desire
How lonely because no one else suffers
This need to succumb to the fire

Let me have but just a taste
Even if it would kill not to have more
Still I would relish the memory
That my mouth had once explored

Sensual and longing, flowing and alluring.

I like this, yes I do.

You bring the tang of romance
back to us in style..

even if it is lost...
still, you hope for the find again.

Well done, Poet.

You know when I read the title it brought to my mind the great novel By Hamsun, and well, this was quite different, I dont think you should play with these themes in romantic guise if you dont personally know malnutrition, (Which can be an inspiring state) but usually turns pretty scary in thelong run.

This was quite a poetic statement...gave me chills...nicely expressed and deeply felt.

There are many different kinds of hunger...some nourish the spirit or mind, others the body...the hunger for a touch is certainly one of them.  Thinking, as for myself, to be hungered for is very romantic.

some hungers are insatiable
and to be hungered for in this way
is a blessing.  Love your words here.

“The hunger for love is much more difficult to remove than the hunger for bread.”
Mother Teresa

Well done, Refugee.
