I read over my old poetry
written in times of dark and pain,
but it's hard to think about what I've lost
since I realized what I have to gain.

Such words of sadness lay there
in the pages of my past,
what a heart-breaking love I wrote
feelings I thought would forever last.

But no, and when I tell you this,
trust me on what I say,
happy poems really can be written!
There is always a chance for an awesome today!

Life can change in the blink of an eye,
BLAM! In your face! Just like that!
Sure, you can still read the sad poems,
but you'll wonder where your sad is at.

You know, every time I looked at your picture -- I could see that the sad would not be there forever.  You have such a wonderful look on your face in that picture .. and that is how I see you.  You look like a great person to call 'friend'.

Well I liked this. Maybe there's only a limited amount of sad to go around. I think I'm using it right now. lol

As usually you cheered me up

Alison, a friend can pick out a friend from a million miles away You look like a great friend to me too! Thanks for the support

gypsyheartx, you will get there when you are ready, you will Thanks for reading!

Kate, thank you so much! I sure hope the happy sticks around, it feels great!

Ed, I know you'll remember

Bernie, thanks my friend! Good to see you!

LT, there's plenty enough sad to go around...the devil has lots of resources. My sadness was enjoyable at the time, but now, I can't see feeling that way again. I hope the same for you.

Marty, you are so special that words just can't explain, but you know already. Thank you for everything

So amazing the changes our lives take, and how the love and support of wonderful friends can make even the worst times better.
Wonderful read.

Dearest Dixie...once, I was very much in love with a man who really didn't have a clue.  He loved woman, of all ages...and treated me very badly...a friend of mine said to me a long time ago, one day, your going to wake up and wonder why you spent so much time pining over a man who didn't care about your feelings, nor cared about your love for him.  I don't remember when that day came, took a long long time...perhaps part of it was in the wanting of a thing I could never have?  We humans are like that you know...but now, time and age and self confidence has led me to a new understanding and path...and I'm so so very happy I'm here.  Life is good Dix, and when we learn to gravitate only towards those who care about us, I mean, who really embrace our feelings...we become.  Remember, a person cannot give what they've never known.

Love to you and Merry Christmas...wishing you a new year of love and happiness...and I think you've got it...(wink)
