Rain

The rain sweeps down upon my face
And covers it with bleeds of lace
Dropping off my nose and chin
Making rivers on my skin

The rain is warm the clouds are gray
A gentle breeze in steady play
The rain impairs horizons view
But when it’s gone the world will new

The sun will come to light the day
And flowers open up and stay
And butterflies will fly once more
To drink the nectar in the core

And I will walk the valley’s green
To play among the unforeseen
And say a little prayer of grace
This rain that bled upon my face

Come walk with me in rains renew
Under wonders sky of blue

Well, Seymour I am amazed! I really like this. Excellent write. I am not usually one for nature poems but this is a cut above. It's going in my library.

"The rain is warm the clouds are gray
A gentle breeze in steady play"

I just love those lines. In fact, I would have posted the whole thing again if I could have.

Keep up the good work!

A wonderful write Sy!
It's raining up here in Canada right now..
want to come up here and we'll do
a little singin' and dancin' in the rain?
Just like Fred Astaire!

Have a bright and beautiful day!

Sir Sy

desert in over six months

thanks for the rain...

I'll come walk with you anytime, Seymour. Sounds like your path is a lot better than mine. And, although I try to change this path, it always turns out to be the same.

I too, am not a big nature poem fan, but these lines:

Come walk with me in rains renew
Under wonders sky of blue

I just had to say, great job.

Oh, Mr. T., I nearly missed this mist of a poem!

I absolutely LOVE it! ~ and that is why I am tucking it away for a rainy day, so to speak!

One of the loveliest poems on rain that I have had the pleasure of reading!

Hello Seymour!
I feel like I just took that walk with you! Beautifully written! Nature is a wonder to feel and behold! Wondering if this was inspired by sight seen or from the mind's eye... just curious.

From the minds eye, getting a little old to be walking in the rain. Thank you for the read and nice comment.

Hi Seymour.

A very nice piece of reading.
Although it reads like a nature poem I think there is a more to it then that.

Like a personal journey fom somewhere to somewhere.

Am I wrong?
