she has never seen him
the picaro
his face lies
on the other side of the wall
his smell climbs the tea roses
touches her shoulder
as she walks by
his voice on the calle
his darkness
fill her with lust
his very presence holds her hand
on her pale garden path

the tradeswomen
bustling skirts
generous lips
whisper her his demon black curls
curved red mouth
dulce wrists
his wanton grasp
she clenches her gown in white hands
struggling not to think

on the sharp canvas of her nun’s bed
she paints herself
Goya’s La Maja Desnuda
waiting in the light
surely tonight
he will come
her fingers cling to the sharp face of dark
winds of hunger sweep her
waiting
naked in her shame
she sings herself to sleep
with his song

______________________________

pícaro, perhaps from picar,
a rogue

calle, street
dulce, sweet

Goya’s La Maja Desnuda, painting by the Spanish master, Francisco de Goya, a nude woman lying on a bed

Yes, she writes.

And she has stories and stories
to unfold.

Interesting write, though a bit of research was necessary to fill the gaps...

Sorry, my reply was not properly worded...

...the 'gaps' are good, a challenge, make one research, study and find new things...a treasure hunt, so to speak.
