She took from him his liquor
And drained from him his pride.
Leaving but one reminder
Before his downward slide.

A slide that left him hanging
From his thumbs and toes
And from this perch he’s dying
To see just what she knows.

She knew he had been runnin’
She knew he had done wrong.
He left her there just achin’
To sing again that song.

A song of tears and sadness
Of pain and so much more.
A song of too much madness
Beyond the bedroom door.

He used to call her Darlin’
And share with her his heart.
But she just laid there stewin
He’d spilled their apple cart.

And you should know an apple
Has worms plum to the core
Just like a cheatin’ bum does
Beyond that bedroom door.

Yeah!  What's with those worms, anyhow?  Enjoyed this, BJ.
