All I ever wanted to do
was love you
and give you what
I never had
so that you wouldn't
grow up sad

and alone.....

the way that I had to,

but you;

you take for granted
and hold no fear
while leaving me
here, in tears

and still

I know

that no matter what you do

my precious child,

I will always love you.

seek the flame within yourself
and let your soul be cleansed by
the fire of love.  Axel Ekenstierna

We always try to do our best for our children to prevent them from going through the same things we did. And, we will always love them no matter what they do.

I feel your ache, gentle-spirited one.

Remember, "...and this too shall pass..."

Continue loving her and she will find her way back.

Giving you a big, warm compassionate hug,
Linda xo

What SEA said...

they have to make their own decisions,
and work their their own mistakes.

But what we wouldn't give
for one huge bandaid.

As it is, with mothers.

Then comes the night, and we peek quietly in their rooms, see them sleeping, and we smile.

Then we think to the future, when they themselves are parents, and know they will walk in these very shoes we wear now, and we smile even broader.

excellent write.

There are time when we wish they would
never grow up and other times when we want
to slam the door behind them after we
throw their favorite pillow out the door.

Above all,  they are priceless,  they just
don't know it yet.
