Listening to every heart

The Tale of Three

We flashed in brilliant red armor
quicksilver smiles of victories ~
for reasons privately, loudly,
seductively alive

and laughter became our tears of rite.

We were too ambitious with living,
too forward with joy,
too triumphant in tonal glee
to worry about the capturing of
momentary aware;

our flash-pan weekend
will be worn as heart-badges
beneath the orange, purple, and blue
of our vestments…

our colors, our lives, those books yet
to be written, those little loves yet
to be squeezed, and no more counting the
deadline days, as we celebrated
life, conquests, and decisions

and then
in the dry-eyed, momentarily, significantly aware
silent moments
as we awed and eyed
October displays of riotous fractions
between laughter and light

to know inside
that in this portion of our fifties
we are just now
hitting our stride,
and then?

Well, we simply rocked our world.

~*~

To my KLPI Sisters, and to our marvelous weekend, when we all forgot to snap a photo, I salute you.

I believe it matters not that not a single photo was taken! For you captured the essence and beauty of that glorious weekend of friendship and comraderie with your words!

Sissie...You didn't need a camera to show this special time from inside and out.

I don't know what KLPI sisters are, but count me in on that fun.
I can only imagine.
