 In the Cotswolds ~ Linda L. Dowd ~ Long shadows slowly sliding, Down sleeping slopes of rolling hills, As beams of rising Harvest moon, Dance on the Cotswold sills. Moonlight bathes the cottages, The night is cool and still. The townsfolk slumber peacefully, In this village of good will. They rise with the early sun, And work the whole day through. All sharing both their hands and hearts, As each day begins anew. As smiling moon climbs evening sky, They slip in to sweet sleeping, Content and warm in cozy beds, And safe in angel keeping. “The time has come for man to lay down his arms, and pick up each other.” ~ Linda L.
