skin to skin
your eyes pierce
through this mask i wear
can't pretend anymore
that my burning passion
does not consume my soul
my breath grows short
as you grow warm
to me;
to this world we live in
together forever they'll say
but i only see now,
right here in your arms
the escape i've been waiting for
from day to day.
you can see
right through me
now; please wrap me in your
forgiving lullabies
and never stop singing
these truths
