I didn't expect those kind of flavors
when sipping from the river of ra
on the downside of heaven
where shisan worshiped her dragon
from behind the curtain of stone

I saw the faces of dolls there
on her shelves in the magic kingdom
as she dressed up in women's clothing
and gaudy overcoats with no flashing
but a mind's eye that knew the serpents

as well as I from her dreams
and then there was the poet too
in her white gown luxuary
waiting under waterfalls for healing
waiting under darkness for sin

I could have worshiped her in time
if there had been but a heartbeat
something that stirred the sand
and made wonder steps appear
something more than just the glass

from the closed windows she stood behind
___________

through a looking glass darkly we gaze
though now tis only a smokey gray
in the light of day you may find
tis only a mirror that's left behind
come night
scry if you might
the lady in white
materializes .... gazes through...
wondering... who are you

it's those endings that always leave one...
wanting for more

Always a pleasure to read you

so many
'if onlys'
so many
lonelies
windows painted
frosted glass
hearts fall
shattered
the broom of time
sweeping past

I agree with Nakd...your endings are always so much more. Like a beginning to something new and more wonderful that we, the reader are dying to know.
