Wanderer Of Sable Caves

Introspection is damp
Dirt floor, a blanket bars the door
Past is a ship that relates to tears
Leaving on collected rain of many years
Recollection is a lamp
Footfalls that are like snow, now quiet as I go
Moving down a staircase underground
Thin, the skin of brittle leaves enfolded down

The light is better here
Shining from the center of my hemisphere
Warm, the will and willing glows
Understanding only comes when patience goes
Despite mystique made clear
Silently resilient, finds enraptured walls
Solitude is just the salve salvation calls

The Autumn night may cool, entreating Summer cruel
Just leave your game face on the tabletop
It won’t be long ‘til winters boot will drop
But I am wandering in sable caves

Nice...I am always reminded of memories when I smell dampness of the rain or solitude, but I can never remember in details....

A beautifully safe place,
in sound and sense...

well done, Kathleen.

I think I will be back to explain just why this poem is just amazing...

At the moment I am just to busy applauding.

This is so going in my library.

"The world won't end in darkness, it'll end in family fun
With Coca Cola clouds behind a Big Mac sun."

sounds like hibernation time

Once kind upon
the feathered white
now she bites,
her tender rains
turned stormy nights,
in frightened flight,
the girl of summer
seeks the shelter
from the winter plight

thanks for the muse inspiration

Can I just say that you are immensely talented?

I noticed the alliteration too, very nice touch.
