scented honey
clinging to lips
padre strides
breast of El Greco hill
blessed sacrament fingers folded
into cassock
sap ridden trees
close ranks behind him
hiding him from my sight
forever

I seldom think of
man hands I have known
except maybe for those
he showed me

did you see them?
capable hands
hands that can pull the feeling of want
from your mouth
need from your soul
hands that exact a dear price
for iniquity

he is but a voz suave
behind a screen
an ear for my sin voice
I have never seen him
my confessor

yet his picture sits in a sliver frame
beside my bed
as if
for god’s sake
he were real

Gads...

may I come sit at your knee
and sponge up any dropped words?

I know I could knit them into
something!

Karilea
you make me laugh
YOU are the poet
let us sit together
write poetry
and knit sweaters
for our grandbabies

thank you...

God is in the poet's voice
penned with care
and pure heartfelt truth
it is not full of hate
but rather love at it's best
and in you my dear Lady
lyes a spring to the source
of God's blessed heart
So spread your wings
and fly away
basking in his heavenly glow

~loved it!

Kate

Man hands...extraordinary, as is the poetry within these words.
