Closer to Hell...

Trash
That’s what they said I was
I’m trash
Just because
I’m too head strong
It’s my fault I don’t belong
I hurt people and make them cry
Everyone keeps on asking me "why"?
It’s my fault their crying
Watching their tears is worse than dying
But when I say I’ll go
They grab onto me and tell me no!
You can’t make it on your own!
So tell me why with you all here
I feel so alone
I’m just trash
My dreams are trash
They’ll never make cash
Questioning my own heart
Tearing my whole world apart
These feelings I can’t seem to place
Looking away from the world
I hide my face

It's an unfortunate thing, and one I've fallen victim to, much too recently for my own comfort...but this comment that I just made
/pip/Forum96/HTML/000638.html#3

is something we can easily apply to ourselves, with the same results.

My short answer: If you can write like THIS, you ain't trash!

Thankyou... I didn't really want to write anything so depressing. I'm surprised someone read it. I guess I can only write what I'm feeling...

Sometimes that's the only way to get it OUT...and we poets are blessed to be able to really get it out there when we do. I do it all the time, and my friends here pretty much put up with that part of my writing.....

...like this one for instance....

I don't think you are trash at all.  I think you are a poet.  And, that is a beautiful thing to be, right?  So, you can't be trash.  Nope.  Just can't be.

Actually, I think maybe you're a musician or a lyricist....the rhythm in this poem is very effective.

I liked this a lot. I would also add that making hurting people is something we all do even if we are not always there to see it.

Oh, I happen to like depressing poems by the way. If you ever want to cheer yourself up go and read some of passing shadows' work it always works for me

"The world won't end in darkness, it'll end in family fun
With Coca Cola clouds behind a Big Mac sun."

Such a hearthfelt poem, and it is because of writers like you that I am really starting to enjoy hip hop and rap at the ripe age of 60!  I  think you could write it SO well.  Welcome to Passions by the way.

You put a lot of emotion into this and it is very heartfelt and personal. Writing from the heart always makes for a great piece of work. You have a lot of talent. Take care and Have fun. Steve
