To be human,
Is to rule the earth
That’s the tale, sent down from gods
Don’t you see
the laws of nature
are for birds and bees
Surely you can’t say they apply to me.
I am human
The world was made for us alone
But still
I work harder
than my ancestors before.
But how else will humanity grow?
And maybe we cut down too many trees
And it may be a little harder to breath
But I must make room
I have a growing family.
And now there’s famine
but we can make more food.
Some wild life may die
but humans must keep going.
Now there is a new decease
Millions are dying
quickly we must find a cure
We are not animals
We are humans
Why compete
when you can wage war?
Screw nature
The powers gave us this earth
Damn it, it’s ours
See we are doing fine Ruling the world
There’s billions of people
yet we continue to grow
And two world wars
one on the way
We are almost as gods
We can think
We can say

But then again...
Humans do seem to be on the brink
maybe this is just a myth.
The world is not just ours
And we are not smarter than gods.

Perhaps we are living wrong?

Whew
your reading my mind, two fold today
and heck, we don't even know each other

this was awesome...
thank you for writing and
Welcome to PIP with such a grand entrance!

Painfully darkened stairs
Reached down into the pit of my being
Giving up life for drive by shootings
Of lobbyists on the roof of privilege
Arm in arm with news media
And images they use to cross our yards
or cut out the hearts of conversation
Sensationalize they're right or left wing fables

Is this really American’s war on Terror
Or fat old men, sending our boys to perish
At the hands of Bin Laudin?
Al-Qaeda doesn’t live in Iraq
Neither does Bin Lauden
Clandestine
the hump on this monkey's back
One party defending the lies of their registrations
it's time we the people mean something
and are worked for
instead of doing the bidding of special
party interests...
Oh the lies that walk the floor

You Go Clinton...even though at the time
I didn't like what you were doing
Little did I know
you had done more then you were given credit for
and perhaps that is why they took your mistake
and blew it right outa the water?

I'm certain that at the end of this term
far more mud will be slung and learned

Thanks for your reply. your poem is really good, and I have to admit I very much agree with it.
