Love Unbound

From loves embrace you grew,
Hidden, unseen within me,
A silent, unwanted parasite,
Invading what once was mine.

With knowledge came tears,
Visions of dreams now lost.
A momentary lapse, eternally punished.
My life over, before it's begun.

Time became my opponent,
Bringing with it
distended proof of your
dark life within my womb.

I cursed your being
As you punished my body
For not giving you the love
You demanded from me.

There were days I wished you gone,
That our symbiotic bond
Was severed, before you had chance
To take my soul.

And then you were there,
An outraged ball of screaming lungs.
Alone and weak, you trembled,
So scared, you reached for me.

I placed you in my arms and stared,
Until the world was just you and I.
I drank in each tiny feature,
Every digit, every crease.

Fragile lids drew back
and I saw your blue eyes for the first time.
I placed my finger out, you grasped it
And in a rush I realised...

...that you are mine,
And from this day on,
All my breaths are drawn for you,
All my dreams I give to you.
For you are my life,
You are my hopes,
You are the heart that beats within me.
You are my child,
My son.
And for that I give you
Love unbound.

I know this feeling well. You describe it so clearly, like it was yesterday.

Wow, incredible, magnificant images you've projected within the love for a child...this was absolutly magnificant and I suggest
you print this up and frame it for him....

What a gift...what a marvelous writer you are....

Thankyou all...so much. He's 8 now, and still the angel that sprang from something that seemed so dark at first.

This is so good...so very very good, as in goodness.
